Relaxing in Paros
We took two bus rides to Santorini port to catch our ferry to the island of Paros. Riding the bus is the way to go…as fast as a taxi and much, much more inexpensive. Once at the port, we had lunch while waiting for our ferry. Danielle said she had the best Greek salad yet. The ferry was very fast and we were in Paros in no time.
Paros is a smaller island than Santorini and we found that it has a completely different vibe. It doesn’t seem to be so full of tourists and there are many more sandy beaches. It was only a five-minute cab ride to our hotel – Sunset View – and once we arrived we were again thrilled with our accommodations.
It is a small hotel with about only 20 rooms and we are right by the pool (as most rooms are). In fact,Wholesale Chanel, hanging out there today we felt like celebrities – there was no one else around and the incredible staff was so attentive. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist area (but not too far because nothing in Paros is too far) so it is a perfect place to veg out and relax, which is what we need after a week of traveling.
After hanging by the pool for a while, we walked down to the nearest sandy beach in the town of Lavidia. There were no sandy beaches in Oia (on account of the volcanic eruptions the shores in Santorini were very rocky), so it was a nice change. We got in the cool water, sat right on the beach at a taverna and got the local scoop from our waiter Panos. After a false alarm about losing Danielle’s wallet (we found it in the room),Wholesale Replica Handbags, we relaxed by the pool some more.
It was a pretty relaxing evening as we returned to the same beach-side taverna for dinner (pork fillet and calamari this time) then back to the room for some much-needed rest. We will visit more sandy beaches tomorrow… We decided to rent a little Fiat to whip around the island because we have heard there are many great beaches. It should be fun!
